The software used to simulate the installation is EnergyPlus, which uses DesignBuilder as a graphical interface, responsible for performing calculations and simulations.
The EnergyPlus program is developed by the U.S. Department of Energy, being one of the most widely used in the field, as it is continuously updated with reliable results. However, data entry in this program is somewhat complex and laborious, which is the main reason for the DesignBuilder graphical interface simplifying data input.
